Registration data is sourced from Vahan Analytics (vahan.parivahan.gov.in), the Government of India's vehicle registration database. Data is filtered for electric buses (vehicle category: e-bus / EV commercial) and grouped by maker and state.
Important caveats:
- Vahan data has a known delay of 1–2 months from actual registration.
- Batch registrations (large fleet deliveries) may show as spikes in a single month.
- Some makers may register buses across multiple RTOs in batches, affecting state-wise split.
- Vahan data reflects registered units, not operational buses — some may be registered but not yet deployed.
